I have been so slack sharing my completed projects this last year – I started working on the Crop & Create Delivered Fall event projects when it kicked off in September 2022, but then due to ill health didn’t complete them. Well I finally put the final card together over the last week, so I thought it was time to go through and share them all now … I’m slowly working through the March 2023 event classes now as well, ahead of the next Fall event box arriving at the end of this week!! I’d better get cracking!!!
I have to say I think these event boxes are super good value for money, and the classes really have a great mix of styles and products so there’s usually something for everyone. Some turn out to not be to my personal taste, but I always like to try everything … sometimes the projects I’m not keen on teach me something new or I find a new favourite technique I’ll want to use again and again in the future.
The event kicked off with Sara Davies from Crafter’s Companion – I have to be totally honest and say that I was super pumped about the projects and the ‘art deco’ style stamps were one of my favourites in the event kit box … but it was let down by the awful quality of the stamps. Both stamp sets I received in my kit had flaws in them, but they don’t use photopolymer so the actual stamp quality in general wasn’t good, so I didn’t bother to get them replaced. It was really disappointing, as I was really looking forward to these products. I’ve since tried some of my older stamps I’d purchased from Crafter’s Companion but hadn’t christened yet and had issues with some of those as well, so it’s now one of the few brands I won’t purchase stamps from again. As always, though, I try to find positives from each class – even those that disappointed me 🙂

Things I enjoyed:
- I loved working with the watercolour markers to create ink smooshed backgrounds, which is something I’ll use again and again.
- I loved learning how to make an exploding box – I’ve wanted to try one of these for a long time, so it was great to finally find to courage to try one. Not sure I’ll do many of these in the future, but it was great to pushed outside my comfort zone.
- I loved using the watercolour markers to colour in the stamped images, and will definitely do more of this.
