Making life brighter one card at a time
I created this for the Peace on Earth blog challenge – gotta love a rainbow! Everything is from Gina K Designs.
This challenge over at the Time Out Challenges blog is right up my alley as it’s a style I do all the time thanks to Gina K – but instead of using stencils this time I white heat embossed two floral stamps by Gina K instead. They’re so bright and cheerful – I do so love me a rainbow or two 🌈 I’ll add sentiments and a bit of bling later on when I decide what they’ll be used for.
I created this card for the Gina K Designs monthly challenge to use the wax pencil resist technique … a new one for me. I do love trying new things! This uses the Warm Spring Wishes stamp set, which I love.
I still struggle a bit with true clean and simple cards … but it doesn’t stop me from trying occasionally. I made this for the Addicted to CAS challenge this week for ‘present’. Sadly I missed the deadline for posting but that’s ok, I enjoyed the challenge.
A few things used on day 5 that I hadn’t used before – the tag die and the inks used for the background stamps, the sentiment stamp, and an Artistro gold pen. I’ve never made a batch of gift tags before, so this was a fun new challenge for me. They’ll be attached to wee bags of chocolates for my monthly craft group that’s meeting this weekend for our final catch-up before Christmas.
Another set of trees using Gina K Designs’ Christmas Tree cover plate die. I this these are my favourite versions of the cards, I just love the more subtle colours of the papers together. I just flicked through my paper samples and found greens that I thought could work well together. Not a single paper pack in this case was a Christmas paper, so it just shows what you can find when you look outside the box a wee bit.
I’ve decided to enter these into a few challenges this week – I’ve been slack at doing challenges lately, so I guess I’m making up for lost time. I keep updating my Instagram feed, but forgetting to post here oops:
I created the die cut elements a few weeks ago and put the top layer together while I was at a craft retreat. I only just remembered to put them together into the final card versions this week! While I was posting on Instagram it was rightly pointed out that the bottom card is perfect for the current challenge over at the Double Trouble blog! The challenge is to mix plaids, stripes, checks, flowers and polka dots, with an optional twist of paper piecing … it was perfect timing 😀
Oh my goodness it’s been a long time since I’ve posted on here, or in a challenge – I think I need to re-do my 100 days challenge, at least I keep crafting every day that way!
Anyway, I managed to complete this card for a challenge over on the Gina K Designs blog this month, and it worked out perfectly for the Tic Tac Toe challenge too – win/win! I went with the centre horizontal row of ‘Christmas tree – Sparkle – Star’. I’m dipping my toes back in the challenge waters again, yay 😉
Supplies used:
I almost forgot to do my daily card today so this was a quick one for the Tic Tac Toe challenge using ‘yellow, ink blending and flowers’. I’m also submitting it for the Stamping Sensations challenge of summer flowers. It also works for the Use Your Stuff sunshine challenge too!
Supplies used, all by Gina K Designs:
This month the challenge over on the Gina K Designs blog is for a black and white card with one pop of colour. This is my card – I had to use my favourite colour of blue for my colour pop. Using the Fluttering Fall stencils and Happy Flowers stamp set.
