  • Poinsettia washi by Pinkfresh Studios
  • Perfect sentiments Holiday hot foil plate by Pinkfresh Studios
  • Gold foil by Couture Creations
  • Holiday flora embossing folder by Gina K Designs

Stay classy sketch

I’ve had it on my to-do-list to create a similar card to this, and the sketch by Freshly Made Sketches was a chance to play with it … Lots of my friends love the sassy sentiments so I’ll no doubt have a list of them wanting to receive this one 😉

Supplies used:

  • Stay classy stamp by Riley & Co (Funny Bones series)
  • Riley’s alphabet by Lawn Fawn
  • Ink pads by Gina K Designs in Red Velvet, Grass Green and Ocean Mist
  • Santa etched dies 2018 holiday by Spellbinders
  • Red and white velvet cardstock by Stampin’ Up!
  • Washi tape by Poppy Crafts
Challenges

Birch Press wreath

I won this set of dies in a monthly challenge by Jennifer McGuire and so thrilled to use the layering dies, as I’ve wanted to try these for a while now. This is my anything goes entry for Peace on Earth Christmas, and also for the buttons and bows challenge on Shopping our Stash. It’s also perfect for the Can you handle the Pressure? challenge of embossing folders with a twist of wreaths.

Challenges

Star Christmas tree topper

I tried to make the star the focus of this card, as though it was a close-up of just the top part of the tree. Not sure I pulled that off or not, but it was fun to create! I used two different gold cardstocks (one brushed and one mirror) for a bit of contrast, and some Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents on the lightbulbs (hard to see in the photo).

It works perfectly for a few Christmas challenges (but that’s not to say I won’t do more later in the month!):

Triple time stamping

Another challenge completed this evening – this time for a triple time stamping technique for the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog challenge.

I decided to heat emboss the stamped images in gold and ink blended the layers using Blue Lagoon and Turquoise Sea inks by Gina K Designs. The cardstock is Tranquil Teal and the images are from the Holiday Tapestry stamp set. The sentiment is from one of the pre-printed sheets from Gina K.
