Ink lifting technique 2

Day 1 of the Online Card Classes Spring Card Camp is officially completed by me now. This last class by Jennifer is one I struggled with but finally got two usable card fronts. I’m actually pretty thrilled with the final cards … I definitely worked hard for them, that’s for sure!

The pink version below is what I’ve submitted for The Sisterhood of Crafters challenge of Think Pink. The pale version of this card definitely lets the pastel pink shine through as the star of the show, that’s for sure. And the pink gems really finish it off nicely, it’s such a delicate card.

Supplies used:

  • Stamp: Rose Lace background by Gina K Designs
  • Dies:
    – Master Layouts 4 by Gina K Designs for the scalloped rectangle
    – Master Layouts 5 by Gina K Designs to cut the centre rectangle to create a white frame
    – Stitched Hi by Spellbinders for the letters and shadow (I believe it may still exclusive to the Crop & Create March 2022 event by Scrapbook & Cards Today)
  • Inks: Distress Oxide inks in Picked Raspberry, Festive Berries, Candied Apple and Spiced Marmalade
  • Cardstock:
    – Innocent Pink and heavyweight white cardstock by Gina K Designs
    – Matte gold cardstock from the Craft Perfect Gold Hearted paper pack by Tonic Studios
  • Embellishments: Ballet Slipper jewels by Pinkfresh Studios

The more vivid version I chose for The Card Concept challenge 175 May Flowers. To be honest I’d intended making a different card for the challenge, but this one fit the bill perfectly in the end. I’d say it’s style is ‘Classy and Elegant’ and the background is made up of lacy rose flowers, with the rich warm colours of the inspiration photo. I just adore this card!

Online card classes Spring card camp

With the time difference and working full-time I’m always behind attending these classes but I managed to finish one card tonight from Jennifer McGuire’s first card class. I don’t have many background stamps so wasn’t sure I had one that work … but I’m ok with the results of this one 🙂 And it works for CardMaynia day 17! #OCCSpringCardCamp2022

If you haven’t tried the Online Card Classes by Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner yet, you should take the time to check them out 🙂
