CardMaynia finished … now day 1 of 100 days project

This card was created to honour Gina K Designs for all that Gina, Tom and the team do for us crafters every week. Customer service is second to none, and I continue to learn from the selfless sharing of knowledge every single week, not to mention their sense of humour and compassion. All products today are by Gina K Designs. Using Mega Flower stencil, still using up ink left on my brushes (unbelievable), butterflies from Warm Spring Wishes, sentiment from Let’s Celebrate, and Midnight sequins on the butterfly bodies.

And that’s also day 1 of #100daysproject2022 for me. I decided I had too much fun with CardMaynia so I signed up to continue going! Here’s the month of May all completed!

Challenges, Class projects

Day 31 of CardMaynia

My colour choices for one of the classes at Create and Connect by Pinkfresh Studio. This uses the Whimsical Blooms set, exclusive to the event. And that is the last day of my CardMaynia challenge completed – a new card every day in May! What a great card to finish with!

I’m also entering this card into the Just Us Girls challenge #634 for this week, the TGIF Challenge #370, and The Paper Players tic-tac-toe challenge PP593 (centre column using embossing, floral, and rhinestones, pearls or dots).

Challenges

Nativity card

Another day, another challenge – this time it’s a Christmas Nativity theme card for the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog. When I’m tired and can’t think of what to create, a challenge really helps to give a basis to work from – that was definitely the case tonight! And day 27 of CardMaynia is also completed, so that’s a win/win. Only 4 days left to go!

I usedf the Nativity Silhouette dies by My Favorite Things, along with Gina K Designs inks, and black glimmer cardstock by Stampin’ Up!

Challenges

Rainbows make me happy

I’m obviously still in a rainbow kinda mood… day 25 of CardMaynia done.

I created this one for the Just Add Ink challenge to CASE your own card – this is a revamp of a card I created a year ago. I always liked the original layout and feel, but wanted a more rich vibrant and cleaner card this time round.

I’m also entering this one for the CAS on Friday challenge of Butterflies, and the Less is More challenge of Rainbows. I don’t usually combine challenges, but couldn’t resist this time round.

Butterflies dies from Sizzix and inks and sentiment (from Sketched Flowers stamp set) by Gina K Designs. Gina’s inks and paper make ink blending so easy!

The original card I CASE’d is this one:

Online card classes Spring card camp

With the time difference and working full-time I’m always behind attending these classes but I managed to finish one card tonight from Jennifer McGuire’s first card class. I don’t have many background stamps so wasn’t sure I had one that work … but I’m ok with the results of this one 🙂 And it works for CardMaynia day 17! #OCCSpringCardCamp2022

If you haven’t tried the Online Card Classes by Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner yet, you should take the time to check them out 🙂

Supplies used:

  • Stamp: Paisley Background by Docrafts Creativity Essentials
  • Dies: Hello by CZ Designs
  • Inks: Distress Oxides – Peacock Feathers, Blueprint Sketch, Prize Ribbon
  • Embellishments: Silver foil pearls by Studio Katia

MFT sketch challenge 593

Here’s my first contribution to My Favorite Things sketch challenges. A bit of a different interpretation of the sketch. I had this background sitting on my desk and I was undecided what to do with it – but when I saw the sketch diagram I couldn’t help but imagine this background as my cardbase. It’s certainly not what I originally had imagined for it, but that’s the great thing about challenges, often unexpected ideas come out of left field. This also qualifies as day 16 of my personal CardMaynia challenge.

The feather dies are from Paper Rose, and inks are by Gina K Designs.
