Craft Roulette

Craft Roulette episode 198

A really quick and simple card for Craft Roulette this week, using up some patterned papers in my stash. This is my 122nd card I’ve submitted so far.

  • Project: Spanner card
  • Colours: Butterflies (mine is based on different shades of blue morpho butterflies)
  • Element: Centrepiece (the telephone is in the centre as the main focal point)
  • Random: Dial (on the telephone)

I’m also using this card for the Cut It Up Challenge to use a new product, which is the Ring Me die from My Favorite Things – this is my first time using it.

I’m also using it for the As you like it challenge asking for our favourite paper brand – if I go by the amount that’s in my craft stash, it’s probably Stampin’ Up! – I do love the fact that their papers coordinate with their inks and cardstock. I’ve started branching out to other brands as well, though, and have to say I LOVE the Craft Consortium Ink Drops range, just flicking through the alcohol ink prints make me super happy!

Supplies used:

  • Ring me die-namics by My Favorite Things
  • Perfect sentiments hot foil plate by Pinkfresh Studio
  • Pool party cardstock by Stampin’ Up!
  • 2022-2024 In Colour 6×6″ paper by Stampin’ Up!
Challenges

FFFCardmaking – Paint chips

A fun new challenge started over on Instagram last week using the hashtag #fffcardmaking. It seems this is a challenge running throughout February for a small group of friends who have invited anyone who wants to to join in too.

The first challenge this last week was to make a card using paint chips. After a trip to my local Bunnings hardware store I came home with a pile of samples, and a few ideas – they didn’t all pan out, but a couple of them worked out OK … I’m also going to enter them in a couple more challenges too:

The first card is the one I entered for the challenge. In hindsight I think I’ll add a fun ‘like Netflix’ or other non-traditional sentiment underneath.

The second card I completed is one for a craft group friend who recently lost her Mum, and I added the names inside of everyone that contributed to a floral tribute we gave her on Saturday at our group. It was my first time using the pansy dies, and I definitely see more of these in my future!

Supplies used:

Love you card:

  • Heart Grid cover die by Mama Elephant
  • Refracted embossing folder by Simon Says Stamp
  • Love You die by Simon Says Stamp / CZ Design

Pansy sympathy card:

  • Refracted embossing folder by Simon Says Stamp
  • Pansy dies by Stampin’ Up!
  • Hugs die by Paper Rose (I think … I’ve just mislaid the packet after using it oops)
  • Clear quartz sold sequins by Gina K Designs
Challenges, Using scraps

Quilting birthday

This card was actually for the previous Craft Roulette challenge that I entered just in the nick of time – but it’s perfect for the Time Out Challenges this week, also just in the nick of time 😉 The challenge was using the photo inspiration of a beautiful sewn zippered pouch, and I automatically went to the sewing/quilting aspects of this die set.

A couple of days late in posting, but the parameters for this card for Craft Roulette were:

  • Project: Birthday card
  • Colours: 3 bright and cheery
  • Element: Pot(s), pan(s), or bowl(s)
  • Random: Block(s)

Supplies used:

  • Geometric Quilt Top dies by Concord & 9th
  • Sew Lovely dies by Concord & 9th
