Making life brighter one card at a time
Definitely feeling more like myself again … my challenge mojo is returning full force and I’m finally motivated to make cards for the sheer fun of it. And that means more challenges again.
These cards were originally for an Instagram challenge but the design follows Wednesday’s My Favorite Things sketch challenge too. It’s also perfect for the Birthdays challenge over at the Addicted to Stamps and More blog, and the newest Cupcake Inspiration challenge to use orange, pink and yellow!
I had the idea to use this awesome cockatoo die set from Waffle Flower for a couple of challenges this week: the sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches, along with the colour challenge at The Colour Throwdown. I just love this wee cockatoo!!
I’m starting to get back into a rhythm again – so I chose the Try Stampin on Tuesday sketch challenge to work on today. I’m on a ‘positive vibes’ kick at the moment so I chose a positive sentiment for them.
While I was unwell last month, I slowly managed to complete a set of cards for Kendra’s Card Challenge #9. I went fairly monochrome with this round, and intend donating them all to charity so most have a ‘thinking of you’ sentiment for that reason. I have some definite favourites among them!
I’ve been laid up with covid for almost a month, but finally have the energy to post. I’ve managed a couple of classes over the last week, but I’ll add those later – today, though, I’d the first time I’ve had the energy and motivation to work on a challenge – this is primarily for Sunday Stamps sketch challenge.
This card was inspired by the CAS Colours and Sketches sketch challenge this week, after a very draining weekend … so it’s a virtual ‘cheers!’ from me today!

As soon as I saw the Just Add Ink sketch challenge I immediately thought of a Christmas gift tied with a ribbon. I decided to use less traditional colours using the Whimsy and Wonder DSP by Stampin’ Up along with Polished Pink and Misty Moonlight cardstock. It’s really hard to get a good photo of this one!
Here’s my first contribution to My Favorite Things sketch challenges. A bit of a different interpretation of the sketch. I had this background sitting on my desk and I was undecided what to do with it – but when I saw the sketch diagram I couldn’t help but imagine this background as my cardbase. It’s certainly not what I originally had imagined for it, but that’s the great thing about challenges, often unexpected ideas come out of left field. This also qualifies as day 16 of my personal CardMaynia challenge.
