Craft Roulette episode 191

I adore everything about this card – this is quite possibly my most favourite stencil of all time, and the Glitz glitter gel takes the simple ink blending to a whole other level.

  • Project: Drop down (snowflakes drop down)
  • Colours: Supper table (my crockery is all blues/aquas so that’s what I based my colours on)
  • Element: Season(s) (I chose the festive Christmas season)
  • Random: Shiny (you can’t get much more shiny than that Glitz glitter gel, but I also foiled my sentiment for an extra bit of shine)

Crop & Create Fall 2022 – Brutus Monroe and Therm O Web

We received a large die set with lots of small elements that can be used on tags and cards but which didn’t get used in the class. My tag card is still a bit sticky in places, so it may be our humidity here in Australia affecting it, or I didn’t quite get the technique right when applying the foil. My favourite is definitely the balloon card, such a cute and fun design.

Things I enjoyed:

  • I love the balloon dies and stamps, and will use them again for sure.
  • I enjoyed using the Therm O Web foil on adhesive – that was a new technique for me, and I’m likely to try it again in the future.
  • I loved the different looks on the two cards with the balloon stamped background – it reminds me to try different backgrounds when using my stamps, and I love the subtle rainbow look of the balloon card.

Crop & Create Delivered – Therm O Web

Our third session was a Make and Take with Therm O Web, where we were really lucky to get to play with their new product, Deco Foil Adhesive Transfers, ahead of the public release. This was such a fun product to work with, and super easy to use (I used the die cutter technique for mine).

Some of the things I loved about this class:

  • How simple and effective foiling is without all the fancy gadgets that I don’t own yet (although if I could find someone with one in stock, I’d be owning one pretty quickly haha).
  • Learning something totally new to me, which is always a good thing to do!
  • The new possibilities these products offer in my future creative endeavours.

Other items I used for this card were all from Gina K Designs (my favourite ink brand) – Sunshine stencil, with ink colours of Red Velvet, Sweet Mango, Wild Dandelion, Jelly Bean Green, Blue Raspberry, and Wild Lilac.

This card also used products from Gina K Designs – Festive stencil with ink colours of Applemint, Lovely Lavender, and Sea Glass (one of my all-time favourite colour combos).
